Westbrook Christian School Talent Show & Auction

Recently, a room mother for one of the 5K classes at WCS asked would I help their class in with their auction item for the upcoming school auction on April 16, 2010. The idea was to handprint each of the 10 students and then turn each hand into an elephant. The end result was to auction off an "Alabama" themed set of dishes. These plate and tumblers have turned out to be one of my favorite projects. Too stinkin' cute!!!! Judge for yourself, here's a photo of a couple of them.

I have a feeling there may be a bidding war going on at the auction for this set!!! I hope it raises some money for the school. Thank you, Angela, for asking me to help out. I really enjoyed it.

Girlfriend Gala

I recently was asked to provide a doorprize for the United Ways Girlfriend Gala that is scheduled for March 25, 2010. I racked my brain trying to think of something, and then my friend, (who claims that God is constantly speaking through her to me-- I think he does too!) but she suggested doing a plate that had girly girl things on it!!! Like lipstick, handbags, shoes, etc. Once she suggested that, I was like "That's just such an obvious idea, --why didn't I think of that!!!" Here's the door prize that I've supplied. LAST DAY FOR EASTER GIFTS

DOES ANYONE LIKE SOMETHING SWEET????

Remember my blogger friend who had me create her a sweets plate for her blog????

Here's the picture of that plate.

When I gave it to her, she was torn on whether to give it away (as the original plan) or keep it for herself. To resolve this dilemma, she ask me to create her a name platter with me working her name in with these sweets!!! Since beginning this adventure, I love a challenge! It amazes me how ideas will come to me, and I know where the ideas I get come from. Those ideas come from my Heavenly Father above. From day one, I've known he's with me on this journey, and I've sought creative ideas from him! (And as with everything else, he's faithful to give them!) O.k. enough preaching!!! Well, I got busy creating and here is the finished platter.

This has to be one of my favorite pieces that I've created, and my friend loved it as well.

Women's Ministry Night

Recently, we had a Women's Ministry Night at my wonderful church, North Glencoe Baptist. I brought the coffee mugs & travel mugs, paint & stencils. The women chose the item they wished to paint and got busy painting. Afterwards, I took their painted mugs and glazed & fired them. This was the most fun night! Not only did these women get to let their inner Picasso out, -- we all got to fellowship and laugh together. Do you want to know what the best part was???? When I got the finished mugs !!! Looking at them was incredible. Everyone's turned out great!!! They too were so excited to see everyone's finished mug. Here are some photographs of the finished mugs. These mugs are an example of God's creation of us, --- just like us, no two mugs were just alike!!!
