This comment is not so much about Father's Day as it is about when my husband became a father. I will never forget through my first pregnancy how if anyone asked him if he was excited, he would just say "I will be when there's something to be excited about." Well, I didn't really understand that...until the day my daughter was born. He had been really quiet the whole day in the delivery room, and after 2 and a half hours of pushing, when our Savannah arrived, he quietly excused himself to the restroom. When he came back in the room seconds later, he was wiping his eyes with one of those rough, brown hospital paper towels. He later told me, "Kim, when I saw her for the first time it finally became real to me. My whole way of thinking has now changed." That's what being a father is all about!!!
